Seconds Global
Challenge
Contracted by Seconds Global to help evolve the alpha version of their brand-new website. Seconds provide a full-spectrum product for people navigating midlife and looking to make every moment count. Stories, services, and community events where members can connect around common interests. A great initiative, and a website that echoes warmth, positivity, and world exploration. My role was to infuse the frontend with more subtle micro-interactions, motion concepts, and improved responsive adaptations. I also was given the opportunity to take ownership of the membership registration journey.
Perspective
As the site was already live, my first task was to review the existing Next.js component structure. I began by resolving conflicts between inline CSS and global styles, ensuring CSS Modules behaved consistently. Next, I integrated GSAP to create richer interactions, including the image transition component. I then streamlined the form layouts, replacing traditional input fields with a minimalist line treatment that better matched the site's aesthetic. To improve performance, I audited the application for synchronous tasks that could delay route transitions during navigation. I finished by replacing media query font scaling with clamp(), introducing fluid typography that eliminated layout shifts between breakpoints.
